Prof. Dr. Tatiana Miranda Deliberador is blue®m Key Opinion Leader of 2019. The Brazilian professor from the University of Curitiba won the case report competition with her case ‘Pocket reduction within 30 days with blue®m oral gel.
From more than a hundred applications, the professional jury selected five finalists who had to compete against each other through an online voting campaign. After ten days of collecting votes, the winner was revealed live on Facebook by the founders of blue®m, Johan Blijdorp, Fokke Jan Middendorp and Nathalie Beck. “Instead of hosting a physical event, we decided to ‘be different’ and make it an online award ceremony”, according to Middendorp, blue®m’s chief healthy smiles. Many people from all over the world were thanks to the Facebook livestream able to witness Deliberador become blue®m Key Opinion Leader of the Year.
Perfect illustration of the effectiveness of oxygen therapy in periodontology
The Brazilian professor, working in Miami (USA) and Curitiba (Brazil), made the winning case together with her colleague Marcelo Imano. The case perfectly illustrates how fast and easy oxygen therapy can work in periodontology. By applying blue®m oral gel once per day, the initial pocket depth has reduced from 13 to 3 mm: a pocket reduction of 10 mm in only 30 days. The public certainly liked this case report, receiving more than half of the over 3.000 votes. Deliberador and Imano stated they will donate the total prize of € 5,000 to provide help to those who need it most.
The four other finalists from China, England, Germany and the Netherlands were rewarded as well with a motivational price. They submitted cases about subjects from orthodontics to periodontology and surgery. “We can look back at a successful event.
